It was really a fascinating move when Apple announced Siri along with iPhone 4S and iOS 5 to enhance the user experience. But unfortunately it was only for iPhone 4S. A lot of methods were revealed to activate Siri on non iPhone 4S devices with proxy servers, but some of it lasted long and some others were failed. Now its the age of iPhone 5 and iOS 6, as usual there is Siri on the latest Apple firmware. But what about the older generation iOS devices like iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 4G etc. I’m sure most of the users will definitely look for methods to enable/install Siri on their older iOS devices. We have got a solution for activating Siri on iOS 6 for iPhone 4/3GS, iPod Touch 4G.
Since it is a Cydia tweak, you need to jailbreak your iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod Touch 4G on iOS 6 to get Siri installed. As you all know, currently there is no tool available to jailbreak iOS 6 untethered on any iOS devices. But tethered jailbreak is possible with a redsn0w version. So, as the first step, download redsn0w 0.9.13dev4 and jailbreak your iOS device (iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 4G) tethered and do the following steps.
How to enable/install Siri on iOS 6 for iPhone 4, 3GS and iPod Touch ?
- Launch Cydia.
- Go to Cydia and add the following repository by Manage -> Sources -> Edit -> Add
- Then do a quick respring and install the certificate from the tweak’s settings panel.
- That’s all about Siri installation on your device.
- Siri will start working once you have rebooted your device.
Note: Because you have done a tethered jailbreak on iOS 6, you need to use redsn0w again as a boot utility while rebooting your iOS device.
