We have been getting a lot of queries regarding whether the tool, Evasi0n from the team Evad3rs is able to jailbreak iOS 6.1.3 untethered on all the latest iOS devices such as iPhone 5, iPad Mini etc. When Apple released the latest firmware version 6.1.3, it was pretty clear that it would definitely kill the Evasi0n jailbreak support for all the iOS devices. We had updated it soon after Apple seeded iOS 6.1.3. Here we are going to clear some of the users’ doubts regarding Evasi0n untethered jailbreak support on iOS 6.1.3.
- I have just updated my iPhone 5 to iOS 6.1.3, can i jailbreak it untethered using Evasi0n ?.
No, you cannot. Since Apple cleared all the exploits that used for an untethered jailbreak action in iOS 6.1.3, it is no more compatible with Evasi0n jailbreak tool.
- My iPad 4 has been upgraded to iOS 6.1.3, am i able to downgrade it back to iOS 6.1.2 and jailbreak it untethered ?.
Apple currently stop signing iOS 6.1.2, so you cannot downgrade to it once you have updated you device to the latest firmware version. But still iOS 6.1.2 untethered jailbreak is possible with evasi0n v1.5.3. Since you have already updated the iOS, there is no matter whether the previous version can be jailbroken or not.
- I need to stick with an iOS untethered jailbreak. So, what are the additional features beyond the jailbreak i would get if i update my device to iOS 6.1.3 ?.
We recommend you not to update your iPhone or iPad or iPod Touch to the latest 6.1.3. Apple just wanted to clear all the jailbreak exploits, that is one of the significant reason why there was an iOS 6.1.3. For that they added some additions with iOS maps and all.
Rumors are telling that there will definitely be an iPhone 5S soon along with an iOS 7. I think the jailbreak dev teams, specially the creators of Evasi0n will start working on an another untethered jailbreak only after Apple seeded iOS 7. So better stay with the older ones for a while. We will let you know all the updates regarding iOS untethered jailbreak using Evasi0n and other jailbreak tools. So don’t forget to follow our Facebook and Google plus pages to stay with us tuned.
